Book Blurb:
New York City, May 2000. The Internet bubble has burst and Evan, a computer programmer, is fired with an email from his boss. The next day, his girlfriend dumps him, also via email. Afraid to check any more emails, Evan desperately seeks a rebound romance but the catastrophes that ensue go from bad to hilariously worse.
Fortunately, Evan meets Sammy -- someone whose legendary disasters with females eclipse even his own. To reverse their fortunes, they recruit their friends -- Trevor, Yi, and Carlos -- to form a group of five guys who take on Manhattan in pursuit of dates, sex, and adventure.
When Evan, a closet writer, falls desperately in love with a Hollywood starlet, he schemes to meet her by writing a novel that will sweep her off her feet. Sammy knows nothing about publishing but is confident of one thing: Evan's book should have the word "sex" in the title.
With musings about life, relationships, and human psychology, this quintessential New York story about the search for happiness follows five men on their comical paths to trouble, self-discovery, and love.

Review:
Zach Love created a realistic novel. Bad things seemed to follow one another and not only that but the situations that each man found themselves in could honestly happen to anyone at all. It wasn’t hard to get into the book because of this realistic portrayal.

The chapter titles were well chosen as well. They almost seemed to tell a story of their own. Not to mention they were hilarious.

The different characters were all engaging in their own ways. Each character was a different person and dealing with different things. But the characters are also interconnected so it wasn’t like you were bouncing around all the time in time and space. Although there were a few times where this bouncing around did happen it settled down as you went through the book.

The situations that the characters found themselves in were also humourous but not necessarily overly sexual. Yes, many of the situations were involved meetings of the sexual kind but they weren’t all about having sex kind of thing(yes I am mentioning sex a lot….). And the stories weren’t always about failed relationships or horror stories with the opposite or same gender. It also included complaints about jobs, the pressure that parents might put on people and many more. Those are just the examples I could think of right off the top of my head.

But the interactions between characters was what held my attention the most. These guys towards the end of the book were a group of friends, and close friends at that. They were willing to do pretty much anything to help out one another and that was amazing to see.

If you’re looking for a good bunch of laughs than Sex in the Title is definitely one of the books you should look into. You’ll be chuckling pretty much all through the book(and if you read it in public, beware you might just look like this:

You’ve been warned.
