Xaver, and they are determined to complete his unfinished dream.
About the Author:
J.L. Spelbring lives in Texas, where she wanders out in the
middle of the night to look at the big and bright stars. Besides knocking
imaginary bad guys in the head with a keyboard, she enjoys being swept away
between the pages of a book, running amuck inside in her own head, pretending
she is into running, and hanging out with her kids, who are way too cool for
her.
Her novel, Perfection,
released in July, 2013 and the sequel Flawed releases August, 2014.

Let Us Please Welcome JL for an Author Interview!
The Book Landers: What inspired you to write? (I know, I know, you probably
get asked this a thousand times--but it's an author Q&A staple:-)
JL: I wanted to write a book, so one
day, I sat down and started. My first book was a fantasy and not very good, but
I learned so much. There was nothing better than sitting down and creating.
TBL: If you could meet any character, what would it be?
JL: Oh, any character. That’s really
hard to pin down. There are so many interesting characters. I might have to say
Lestat from INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE by Anne Rice. He is dark, uncaring, and
wicked. If you read PERFECTION, then you know I love wicked.
TBL: Would you say things that happen in real life influence
your novel?
JL: I would say things that I
researched had an influence. During WWII
and the beliefs of Hitler were a great inspiration of where and how I wanted
things to develop.
TBL: Is there something you *must* have in order to write (ie.
coffee, tea, music)?
JL: Music really can influence a
specific scene.
TBL: How do you beat a writer's block?
JL: I make myself sit down and
write. As a matter of fact, I suggest for every writer to do that. What you
write might not be great, but it inspires creativity that could help break
through that wall.
TBL: What draws you to the YA genre?
JL: I like the YA genre because
there are so many firsts. First love, first kiss, first true best friends, etc.
TBL: What is one thing writing has taught you?
JL: There is always room to improve.
Writing is an unending process of learning.
TBL: Do you outline?
JL: Nope. I just start on the first
scene and go from there. When I think of an idea, I usually have the beginning
and the end, so all I need is how to get from point A to point B.
TBL: What is one song that describes your novel?
JL: That’s another hard question.
There were so many songs that influenced certain scenes, characters and such.
TBL: Anything else you would like readers to know about you?
JL: My real goal is with each sequel
or new novel I want it to be better than the previous. I truly try to improve,
which goes back to question number 7.
I would like to take a moment to
thank you for the blog invite. It was fun. I like fun, too. Wicked fun is even
better.
