So I've just finished my two assigned summer reading books for school: 1984 by Georce Orwell and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I'm not saying the books were bad or anything...but why are the endings soooo depressing? Okay okay, I get it--they're "dystopias" (or, as the back of Brave New World reads, a "negative utopia.") But still, as I began to run a list of all the literature I have read in high school so far, I have come to the conclusion that they all have happily never after endings.
And so, I would like to present you with a list of Books With Depressing Endings Read in HS:
